About The Author
The Covid Pandemic has been hard on many of us. Before March of 2020 James was doing the drudge and working in sales and project management. When the pandemic hit, the economy shut down, and his role radically changed. Not only was he out of a job, but with his wife working more to make up for the financial shortfall, he was also suddenly the sole childcare provider for his son. Though busy with educating and caring for his child, he found the time to write. Inspired by the challenges shared with him by a friend, he took her stories and what he knew about mental health from his own personal experience with bipolar disorder to write his first book. "Tiger by the Tail" is an anecdotal self-analysis of bipolar disorder. The book spans 25 years of James' life and consists of expository essays, coping mechanisms, and tools to help the reader gain understanding of the disorder. It covers the hard personal lessons James has learned firsthand. It gives the reader insight into the daily struggles of managing bipolar disorder, ADHD, and borderline personality disorder. James intends to continue his career in writing, and already has plans to write his second book, "In Equal Parts" for a scheduled release in 2022 or 2023. There he will focus on social awareness, social management, and engagement. The book will expound on rapport building and managing different personality types in both personal and professional settings. For now he is still at home parenting until the pandemic is over.
Having a disorder sucks, and you go it alone. 2.8% of the U.S. population have bipolar disorder. That’s 1 in 50 people! The fact is the moment people know you have a disorder they treat you differently. There is no loss prevention for people either, and suicide events for those with bipolar disorder are high. Society isn’t set up to support you, so you need to learn how to support yourself. Tiger by the Tail is an anecdotal self-analysis of bipolar disorder and is the culmination of a lifetime of experience. The book spans 25 years of my life and consists of expository essays, coping mechanisms, and tools to help the reader gain understanding of the disorder. It covers the hard personal lessons I have learned firsthand. It gives the reader insight into the daily struggles of managing bipolar disorder, ADHD, and borderline personality disorder.
